Context & Challenge
Movements run on energy but they scale with systems.
Whether passing a housing bond, coordinating across jurisdictions, or launching a statewide voter engagement campaign, advocacy teams need more than motivation—they need infrastructure that aligns vision with execution. I was brought in to architect backend systems that allowed organizers to move strategically, communicate clearly, and scale with purpose.
My Role
Strategic Systems Designer · CRM Architect · Coalition Infrastructure Facilitator
- With Caitlin Lee Consulting, I helped advocacy groups and grassroots organizations operationalize their outreach:
- Built custom EveryAction CRM user guides and backend tagging systems
- Developed segmented outreach models based on issue engagement, geography, and stakeholder type
- Implemented PDI (Political Data Intelligence) to enhance voter targeting and match programmatic goals to field action
- Created data visualizations to translate campaign impact into accessible visuals for funders, staff, and boards
- At NPH (Non-Profit Housing Association of Northern California), I led the creation of a regional data-sharing agreement across nine housing justice organizations:
- Established shared metrics to track displacement, local ordinances, zoning campaigns, and field activity
- Facilitated alignment calls and SOP development to standardize workflows across orgs
- Mapped backend infrastructure directly to advocacy goals, ensuring tech served strategy—not the other way around

Why It Matters
Backend systems, CRMs, voter files, data agreements, visualization tools—are not separate from the work. They are the work. They determine who we reach, what we measure, and how we coordinate for the long haul. By engineering scalable, values-aligned systems, we created not just efficiency but the conditions for equity, collaboration, and long-term power.
